Unknown person
has sprinkled blood around the home of Evelyn Laker, the Alliance for National
Transformation- ANT party candidate for Layibi Bardege South Woman councilor’s
seat in Gulu City.
Laker woke
up this morning only to find blood sprinkled around her house, kitchen, vehicle
and compound in Aringorwot village Techo Parish Layibi-Bardege division.
According to
Laker, prior to this incident, unknown person was heard on Friday last week
screaming her name in the compound.
Laker, who is worried for her life, says
this is the first time such an incident is happening to her since she
transferred to her home.

Charles Omony, Aringrwot Village Chairperson, says from their observation, the bloodstains could have been left behind by dogs during a fight.
He nevertheless,
says they will carry out further investigations to ascertain whether the
incident is related to witchcraft or not.

Laker is battling for the Layibi Bardege South Woman councilor’s seat with
Democratic Party’s Stella Apoto, FDC’s Susan Lapat, UPC’s Pauline Lukwayi and
NRM’s Joyce Alima among others.
