Catholic Church Gets New Parish to Serve Islands' Believers

The newly consecrated Bukasa Catholic Church Parish has been curved from Bumangi Parish to cater for four Islands Sub Counties of Kalangala District. 

The Parish has been introduced to enhance spiritual growth of islanders in Bubeke, Kyamuswa, part of Bufumira and Mazinga islands Sub Counties. 

Islanders have warmly welcomed the new Parish which has brought spiritual services nearer to them. 

Nakasiita Veronica one of the residents reached by URN says priests have been ministering twice a year which led to backsliding of believers in Islands.

Kato Benedict one of the newly appointed Priests in the new Parish says the intention of new Parish is bringing services nearer to islanders.

He has further appealed to Minister for Works and Transport Katumba Edward Wamala to collaborate with Kalangala leaders on improving transport network of Islands.

Kalangala had one Catholic Parish of Bumangi in Mugoye Sub County which has been overseeing all Catholic spiritual activities in 84 islands of Kalangala. 

Parish Priests have been holding Two annual Pastoral visits in the Four islands' sub counties.
