George Tulilaba, the LC I chairperson of Namukooge in Mazuba sub-county in Namutumba
district has been killed and
body dumped outside a shrine in the neighboring Igelela village.
The deceased’s lifeless body was sighted cited
by children who had gone to fetch water from a neighboring swamp around 5:30 am this morning.
They alerted local leaders who rushed to check on the
lifeless body and alerted police authorities.
The deceased’s body was found with deep
cuts on the
neck. However, there were traces
of blood, which raises suspicion that he could have been a victim of
operators of the shrine whose identities have been withheld by police have since fled into

"He left and did not return
home, yet all his phones were switched off prompting us to physically search
for him in the trading centre but he was not available. We resolved to alert the village security committee members, who this
morning informed us that Tulilaba had been killed outside a shrine," he said.
East Region police
spokesperson, Diana Nandawula confirmed the
incident, saying that
efforts of carrying out autopsy procedures are underway.
