The Bishop of Central Busoga Diocese, Rt. Rev. Patrick Wakula has challenged security organs to employ non-violent measures while enforcing the president’s directives on covid-19.

Speaking on Sunday, Bishop Wakula says that, security operatives ought to exercise lenience by lawfully arresting the culprits rather than being brutal which demean human dignity.

The police and Local Defence Unit (LDU) officers have come under criticism for brutalising members of the public as they implement presidential directives to control the spread of COVID-19 disease.

Wakula stresses that all men are equal before God and it is unfair for them to be exposed to inhumane treatment.

He, however, rallied Christians to abide by the set guidelines and continue praying for God’s intervention to set the world free from the pandemic.

Wakula further condemned corruption tendencies by some government officials. He says that the officials should use this Easter season to repent before their God and the entire country at large.

Paul Naimanhe, the Bishop of Busoga Diocese in his Easter message challenged security personnel to sensitize masses on covid-19 control measures.

In Mukono district, Mukono Diocese Bishop Joseph William Ssebaggala condemned the cases of domestic violence during the lockdown.

Bishop Ssebaggala said that couples should take advantage of the lockdown to build on their relationship.

Bishop Ssebaggala also noted that since several members of the public are desperate due to lack of money, some are involved in robberies, which he said is ungodly.
