COVID 19: Uganda's Confirmed Cases Rise to 30

The number of confirmed COVID-19  cases has risen to 30 in Uganda according to the ministry of health. Seven more cases were confirmed last night.

The seven cases were part of a group of 225 samples that were run at the Uganda Virus Research Institute on Saturday. 

Out of 225 samples run today, 7 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed positive bringing total to 30 confirmed cases. 218 samples have tested negative. Let's keep praying to God to heal our country as we take caution as per the guidelines given," Dr Diana Atwiine, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health said.

Earlier on, the minister of health Dr Jane Ruth Aceng had urged Ugandans to embrace all the guidelines that have been set up by the government to forestall the spread of the disease.

"Ugandans, please embrace our guidelines and preventive measures. We can prevent the spread of COVID19 together," Dr Aceng said.

Some of the set guidelines include people staying home when they are sick with cough and flu, washing hands regularly with soap and water, avoiding crowds and reporting any suspected cases to the ministry of health.
