High Crime Rates Worry Bunyoro King

The high crate rates in Bunyoro region have attracted the attention of Bunyoro King, Dr. Solomon Gafabusa Iguru. In his Christmas message to his subjects, Omukama Iguru says the escalating crime levels are a threat to peace, prosperity and development of Bunyoro sub region.

 

He noted with concern the increase in murder, robbery, assault, defilement, domestic violence and the increasing attacks on Ugandan Fishermen by Congolese militiamen, saying something should be done immediately.

He warned the people of Bunyoro against getting involved in criminal activities that could lead to loss of lives and destruction of property during and after Christmas celebrations. Iguru also warned the people of Bunyoro against excessive alcohol consumption during Christmas festivities.

 

He also expressed concern about the effects of climate change, which is affecting the livelihood of his people. He asked his subjects to prioritize caring for children, the sick and vulnerable people during the festivities. Iguru also asked his subjects to renew their commitment to care for children and support them to achieve their dreams.
