The death toll in the Kagadi-Fortportal road crash has increased to 16. This follows the death of another victim at Kagadi General Hospital on Monday morning, where seven other critically injured people were admitted. The accident occurred on Sunday night around 9 pm at Kyamutunzi village near River Muzizi in Muhorro Town Council, Kagadi district.

It involved a trailer registration number UAD 431Q, loaded with fish, and a taxi registration number UBM 426V traveling from Fort Portal to Kagadi district. The identities of the deceased and survivors are yet to be determined. Preliminary investigations conducted by the police suggest that the trailer experienced a mechanical problem, causing the brakes to fail while navigating a sharp corner, resulting in a collision with the oncoming taxi.
