A doctor
attached to Amach Health Centre IV is in trouble for allegedly extorting money
from the patients.
Dr. Pius
Omach who doubles as a surgeon at the facility is being accused of demanding
money from patients before they can be operated on. According to reports, the doctor asks for
between 300,000 to 500,000 for all major surgeries and between 30,000 to 80,000
Shillings for a Caesarian section.
The money is
normally collected by Ambrose Ogwang, a security guard of the facility.
A patient who preferred anonymity says that she paid 30,000 Shillings for a C-section
performed by Dr. Omach.
