A police
officer attached to Agwata Town Council Police has died five days after getting
involved in a road crash.

Batambwire died on Tuesday evening from Mulago National Referral Hospital.
Batambwire crashed on Thursday when he was riding a police Motor Cycle Reg. No UP 8475 Yamaha Blue, heading to
Dokolo Central Police Station for morning briefing.
The 25
year- old officer hit the hump at Aminkwach Swamp along the
Lira-Soroti highway within Dokolo Town Council, lost control and veered off
road.
Batambwire
who sustained serious injuries was rushed to Olimpat Medical Center in
Dokolo for first aid from where he was referred to Lira Regional Referral
Hospital for a CT scan. However, he was then referred to Mulago National
Referral Hospital for further management.

Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Regional Police said “the condition wasn't good
hence was referred to Mulago National Referral Hospital where he passed on, on
25th March 2025.”
