EC Car Knocks Two Dead in Kumi

John Baptist Asinge, the LC 3 Chairperson of Kanyum Town Council, says that the accident occurred on Monday evening when the rider of motorcycle Reg. No. UDM 661M collided with the EC vehicle near Kanyum Mosque, along Kumi- Pallisa- Tirinyi Road.

A vehicle belonging to the Electoral Commission(EC) Reg. No. UG 0671B  has knocked dead two people in Kumi district. The dead are Fabian Mwemeke, the LC1 Chairperson of Kajamaka- Koisire in Koena Sub County, Bukedea district, and Brenda Akwi, a resident of Akadot Village in Kadami Sub County, Kumi district. 

John Baptist Asinge, the LC 3 Chairperson of Kanyum Town Council, says that the accident occurred on Monday evening when the rider of motorcycle Reg. No. UDM 661M collided with the EC vehicle near Kanyum Mosque, along Kumi- Pallisa- Tirinyi Road. He says that the EC vehicle was coming from Kumi town while the bike emerged from Mukongoro side.

He notes that the police visited the scene and have since towed the EC vehicle to Kumi CPS. James Tukei, the Acting East Kyoga Regional Police Spokesman, said that the officers are still compiling the details of the accident.
