The Kampala District Electoral Commission-EC office has set stringent guidelines for aspiring parliamentary candidates ahead of their nomination week. He says the guidelines stem from the challenges they observed in the nomination of local government candidates last week.

These include among others congestion and clashing by candidates at the nomination center and failure to enforce Covid19 preventive guidelines.

Speaking to URN at the Ntinda EC Regional Offices, Frederick Muwaya, the Kampala District Returning Officer said to avoid confusion at the nomination center, all aspirants are expected to book indicating the day and time they wish to be nominated.

He says they have directed the aspirants to appear in person or send their agents to making the booking and use the same opportunity to present their documents for verification.
