The Electoral Commission and village councils across the country shall conduct voters’ verification exercise from 21st October to 28th October.

Electoral Commission Chairman Justice Simon Byabakama says that they have encountered complaints of ineligible voters appearing on the voters register in the concluded by-elections and past elections.

Byabakama says it is these complaints that have forced the commission to devise a strategy for verification of the voters on the register using village councils.

He says that the commission will work with village councils and residents to identify voters who died and changed place of residence.
