The selection of Apac district as the host of the 2018 National Primary Schools Athletics Championships has excited traders in the region.
The event slated to run from May 6-May 17, will bring together participants from 80 districts and 13 municipalities across the country. This is the first time Apac district will be hosting the National event.

Sam Atim, the district sports officer told URN that the national team has inspected restaurants and accommodation units among others to ensure that they can adequately host and feed guests from across the country.
Bony Otim, a resident of Temogo cell in Apac town says hosting such a big event on the school's calendar is a milestone for the district and an opportunity for traders to ‘make a kill'. Otim urges members of the business community to stock enough produce and ensure that they do not run out of supplies, while the event is underway.
Harriet Akello, a guest operator is optimistic to make more profit from the event. Akello notes that she has prepared her facility ahead of the event.
The games are sub dived into three categories including, Under 12 for learners whose ages are below 12 years, under 14 for those whose units are not above 275 and under 16 for learners under the age of 16 and whose full body units is not exceeding 290.
Betty Awor Engola, the Apac district woman MP says the event shall not only bring enormous business opportunities but shall also encourage local talent.
