There is excitement in downtown as National Unity Platform
presidential flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine prepares for his nomination.
Bobi Wine will be nominated today and will join the incumbent Yoweri Kaguta Museveni
Tibuhaburwa, Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu Gregg and Lt Gen Henry Tumukunde who were nominated on Monday.
Youth donned in t-shirts, holding NUP umbrella have staged at Namirembe Road,
Kisekka Market and William Street dancing to Bobi Wine songs.
T-shirts bearing Bobi Wine's picture are being sold including handkerchiefs and head scarfs.
However the exciting youth are not observing the Standard Operation Procedures
- SOPs intended to prevent the spread of Corona Virus Disease. None of the group members is keeping the required social distance and wearing
of face masks.
The Police, military and LDUs are busy patrolling streets to ensure no
chaos is registered.
Other aspirants who will be nominated today include Forum for Democratic Change-FDC flag
bearer Patrick Oboi Amuriat, Joseph Kabuleta, Fred Mwesigye and Willy
Mayambala.
Nancy Kalembe the only female aspirant who was turned away on Monday by the Electoral
Commission for failing to show proof of payment of 20 Million Shillings as a fee
for standing for President is also expected to return today.
