There was
excitement in Kyambogo and its neighbourhood as the National Unity Platform presidential
candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine made his way to the nomination
center.
Dozens of people in Kireka, Banda, Ntinda and Kyambogo couldn’t hide
their excitement about Kyagulanyi’s candidature.
In Banda,
ten supporters led by Christopher Sseguya told URN that would walk to Spear
Motors junction to wait and receive Kyagulanyi.
Sseguya said Kyagulanyi is best
suited to be the next head of state since he is under 40 years and understands
the challenges of unemployment among the youth, corruption and impact of the
coronavirus disease-COVID-19 among others.

Sseguya said they will not wear red berets as directed by Kyagulanyi in order
to have peaceful nomination activities.

Some of the
NUP supporters in Ntinda and Banda could be heard blasting Kyagulanyi's songs
to express solidarity with his candidature. Dozens of people lined up along
Kisasi-Ntinda to wait for Kyagulanyi to catch a glimpse of Kyagulanyi on his
way to the nomination center at Kyambogo sports ground.
Inside
Kyambogo University, students also expressed their excitement for Kyagulanyi’s
nomination amidst the heavy security deployment. However, some of the said they
are undecided on which presidential candidate to vote for.

At spear Motors junction, some NUP supporters have erected a stand with 12
posters of Kyagulanyi. Three supporters arrived at the junction on motorcycles
but they were asked by security to leave.
Currently, with the exception of pedestrians
from Kyambogo, no one is allowed to cross from Ntinda- Nakawa road through
Spear motors to Nakawa Market area or even to Uganda Revenue Authority -URA
head offices.
