Uganda’s representatives in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Express FC last night lost 1-0 away to Sudan's Al Merreikh to bow out of the competition.

Express FC went into the return leg of the first preliminary round of the tie with a 2-1 advantage, however the lone goal netted by Ahmed Hamid Al-Tash was enough to see the Sudan team advance to the next stage.

Although the two teams tied 2-2 on aggregate, Al Merreikh qualified on a better away goal's rule since they scored a goal in Kampala.

Express FC Head coach Wasswa Bbossa said he can’t blame his players because they put up a good show, but were not lucky to get the goals.
