Express FC Fires Five Players

National super league club Express FC has fired five of its regular players two weeks before the second round of the league kicks off.
Club general secretary Kavuma Kabenge said the decision to fire the five players for indiscipline was made during an executive club meeting. The affected players are Arthur Mukisa, Frank Mawejje, Henley Kakooza, Fred Zziwa and Ignatius Kyagulanyi.
Kavuma said the players were warned on several occasions to change their behavior, but no changes were made. He said the sacked players have also been inciting their juniors to rebel against the team management.
The affected players have vowed not to go down without a fight. Henley Kakooza said he will appeal to the Federation of Uganda Football Associations to reverse the decision. He said the rights of both he and his colleagues were being abused and wants the matter mediated by a third party.
Express has performed dismally in this year's super league. At the end of the first round, it was in 12th position, the worst it has been in 15 years.
