Express FC,  the reigning Champion of Uganda Premier league signed defender Deus Bukenya on a one-year deal as a free agent to help in the defence, while Kasozi joined on a season-long loan from Kyetume FC.

The Red Eagles head coach Wasswa Bbossa said the new players will not only help them in the champions league but also in their bid to defend Uganda Premier League.

“The new faces are a huge addition to our squad because we all know we have to defend the league but also we have more games to play this season with the continent being priority so we need to have more options and I am sure the new players will certainly do a fantastic job”.

Kasozi says that he is happy to be at Express even when it is not a permanent deal.

“I am happy to be a red eagle even if not permanently but any player out there would want to be at such a club, I know what is expected of me on and off the pitch and I will not disappoint, the boys have welcomed me very well and I have already settled in”.

Bukenya who recently featured for Vipers and Prisons FC in Botswana thanked the technical team for signing him. He said he is eager to help the red eagles triumph at the continental championship.

“I am glad to join Express FC, as everyone knows the club has done a fantastic job winning the league and Kagame cup and I am here to simply help the team continue its dominance, I thank the technical team for trust and I’ll certainly repay the faith”.

Express will go into their game against Sudan’s outfit with a pedigree after winning the CECAFA Kagame Cup in Kigali. This will however be Express’s first time in 13 years to represent Uganda at the continental championship.
