Express FC Wins Opening Game at CECAFA Kagame Cup

Express secured an early lead through their striker Erick Kambale who scored from a penalty. However, express finished the game one man down after midfielder Abel Eturude was sent off.

Express Football Club has won its opening game at the CECAFA Kagame Cup. Express FC defeated South Sudan’s Atlabara, 1:0.

Express secured an early lead through their striker Erick Kambale who scored from a penalty. However, express finished the game one man down after midfielder Abel Eturude was sent off. 

Express FC head coach, Wasswa Bbosa said the win is very pivotal, he however noticed that his players’ fitness levels are low and they have only trained for a few days.

Uganda’s other representatives, Kampala Capital City Authority-KCCA and defending CECAFA  champions suffered a defeat against Tanzania’s Azam 2:0 in the opening match.

Two goals from striker Peter Kasunda were enough to help the Tanzanian side overcome KCCA FC.

Express are top of Group A with three points after Young Africans were held by Big Bullets on Sunday while KCCA is at the bottom of their group.
