In grief, Alice Kerum, 48 year-old mother of the deceased residing in Kifumbira zone, narrates that at around 7:00 pm her daughter moved out of the house but shortly after, she was shocked by the news of her daughter who had not sick, being dead.
The family ofCarol Amia, a senior one student at Sumson High school Kyebando who died in the Kamwokya fire outbreak is stranded and seeking government support to transport the body to Zombo district for burial.
On Thursday Amia, a 17 year juvenile and Stephen Okwale, a resident of Mulimira zone died when fire gutted several houses in Kyamuka Zone in Kamwokya and destroyed property worth millions of shillings. The fire that started at 7:00 pm was caused by electric sparks from one high voltage power line.
The fire gutted wooden structures before it spread to several makeshift houses. It destroyed property such as mattresses, fridges and television sets.
Robert Donkara, the Chairperson of Kisenyi II Zone has identified the deceased as Amia Carol 17- years and Stephen Okwale, a resident of Mulimira zone. According to Donkara, the deceased were hit by the high-voltage electric wires as they scampered for safety.

The mother of four who used to earn a living from street vending of yellow bananas in Kampala before the 42-day lock-down was imposed by government, is crying out for not having a single coin in the house.
"As I speak, we don’t have anything inside this house, I can only appeal to the government to help me with the transport so that I can pick the body of my daughter from the mortuary and transport it for burial in Zombo district," Kerum sobbed.

She explains that in a fortnight ago, they had spentall the money on the burial of her sister’s husband identified as Emmanuel Oshokulo who died a mysterious death in his sleep in Kampala.

Another relative who only identified herself as Immaculate, described the deceased as a very humble, disciplined and friendly child who has been doing well in her studies. Like the deceased's mother, the tearful Immaculate also said they had no mean to transport the body.
