Jinja Police
are holding a father accused of assaulting his son to death.
The suspect is
Yazid Kakoza, a resident of Kabi village in Buwenge Sub County in Jinja
district.
He is wanted
for assaulting his 16-year-old son, Ashiraf Nsereko to death. Kakoza
is locked up at Buwenge police station.
It is alleged that kakoza
descended on the minor and started canned him to death on Wednesday night
following his suspension from Buwenge secondary
school.
He reportedly took the body to a nearby clinic in an attempt to conceal
the death.
However, the
suspect’s daughter informed police what had transpired leading to his arrest. The
deceased's mother, Hamidah Nandego, says she warned Kakoza to stop caning
Nsereko in vain.
"I saw my
son bleeding profusely and stopped Kakoza from caning him any further but he
resisted," she said.
The Buwenge Division Police Commander, Henry Mugarura told
URN that Kakoza will be charged with murder.
"We are making the necessary inquiries. Kakoza
will be prosecuted for murder," he said.
The deceased’s body
has been taken to Jinja Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
