Police in Lwengo district is holding a 40 year old man suspected of sodomizing his seven year old son.
Mr. Segirinya Paul, a casual labourer at Mayira village in Lwengo-rural subcounty in Lwengo district, allegedly forced his seven year old son into sexual intercourse on Friday night.
Lwengo District Police Commander (DPC) Paul Wataka says the boy reported the matter to Mbirizi police station on Saturday after he started experiencing pain in his anus and private parts.
Wataka said they arrested Segirinya from the garden near his home where he was found digging on Sunday. He denied the allegations against him but police took him to Mbirizi police station as investigations continue.
Wataka said this man will charged with several offences including sexually harassing his son.
While at the police, Segirinya said that he divorced his wife in 2010 after they got family misunderstandings.
This is the second case of sodomy to be reported in Rakai district in less than a week.
A man was arrested on 27th December for allegedly sodomising his neighbour's son in the same district.
The incident occurred in Bukunda village in Kilumba subcounty in Rakai when a 35 year old man identified as Joseph Lukwago sodomized the 4 year old son of Justine Nakiyimba, a teacher at Kabuwoko Church of Uganda Senior Secondary School.
Regina Nansamba, the Officer in Charge of Kaliisizo police station, said that the suspect, thought to be a drug addict, was caught red handed by residents defiling the boy at around 8: 00pm. The child was trying to make his way home from the trading centre after he lost sight of the adult he had come with.
While being interrogated, Lukwago however, said that he was possessed by spirits at the time of the incident, which forced him into this abomination.
Nansamba said that the suspect will be charged with defilement.
