FDC Dismisses Claims That Besigye is COVID-19 Positive

The opposition Forum for Democratic Change- FDC party has denied reports doing rounds in mainstream and social media platform that the former party head Rtd. Dr. Kizza Besigye tested positive for Covid19. 

The FDC Deputy Spokesperson, John Kikonyogo, says they have been receiving queries from the public on the claims that Besigye contracted Covid19, which explains why he skipped the burial of his old political comrade and former Kampala Mayor, Al-Haj Nasser Ntege Sebaggala on Sunday.  

Kikonyogo dismissed the reports as fake, saying that although Besigye attended a meeting where one of the participants tested positive for Covid19, he was tested and found to be negative.

Covid19 is transmitted through contact with the droplets of an infected person.

Kikonyogo, who was addressing journalists at the party headquarters, also announced the postponement of their National Council session that was scheduled to start tomorrow to Thursday this week.
