Fort Portal Pastor Arrested for Conning Woman UGX 27m

According to the KMP Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, Murungi committed the crime from Nansana, though he declined to divulge details of the case.

The police have arrested Pastor Josephat Murungi of Rivers of Life Church in Kitumba, Fort Portal for allegedly conning 27 million shillings from Penninah Karungi.    

According to the KMP Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, Murungi committed the crime from Nansana.    

Murungi was arrested on Wednesday by police officers attached to Kampala Metropolitan police headquarters.

Onyango notes that Murungi will be taken back to Nansana from where he committed the crime, to face the law. He, however, declined to give details of the case saying they will be availed at a later time.

The acting Rwenzori West Regional Police Spokesperson Solomon Mugisa, said cases of pastors conning unsuspecting Christians are increasing. He warned the public against dealing with whoever claims to a man of God.
