Four Kenyan Nation Nationals Perish in Moroto Accident

The accident involving a Toyota Hilux Reg. No. KCA 344F, driven by Ben Plimo, 40, a Pokot from Kitale, West Pokot in Kenya, had a tire burst, causing the vehicle to overturn several times.

Mt. Moroto Regional Police are investigating a car accident that claimed four lives along the Moroto- Kosiroi Road in Moroto District. The accident involving a Toyota Hilux Reg. No. KCA 344F, driven by Ben Plimo, 40, a Pokot from Kitale, West Pokot in Kenya, had a tire burst, causing the vehicle to overturn several times.

According to the Mt. Moroto Regional Police Spokesman, Mike Longole, the accident claimed all four occupants in the car including the driver. He has identified the deceased as Philemon Lotudo, 54, Jackson Kariwoi, 46, Elijah Lopuke, 52, and the driver, Ben Plimo, 40 years. All the deceased persons are Pokots from West Pokot County in Kenya. 

Longole says that they have launched an investigation into the matter. “The police have launched an investigation into the accident, its preliminary findings have been attributed to over-speeding,” Longole said in a statement. He urged all drivers to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits to prevent such tragic incidents.
