Government has asked the academic staff at Makerere University Business School-MUBS to call off their strike and resume work.

Speaking at the government-owned Uganda Media Center on Wednesday morning, the Public Service Minister, Wilson Muruli-Mukasa said that the strike is unnecessary especially at such a time when final year students are about to set their semester two exams and the economy is struggling because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The academic staff laid down their tools on Monday to compel the government to address their concerns on salary discrepancies. The MUBS staff are concerned that they earn far much less compared to their counterparts in other public universities.
