Health Worker Found Dead in Bar

Charles Wandera, a renowned clinical officer attached to Buwenge General Hospital in jinja district has died in a local drinking joint. The deceased has been a resident of Bwase zone in Buwenge town council. 

According to information obtained by our reporter, Wandera left his rented room on Wednesday evening in the company of his two friends. 

He was seen entering a local drinking joint around 7:00 am on Thursday morning where he was served two bottles of alcohol.

The attendants of the bar were seen fleeing after noticing Wandera's deteriorating health. Curious residents retrieved Wandera’s lifeless body they found lying on the floor of the drinking joint. 

Hamid Muzilu, one of the area residents told journalists that the bar has been working under the watch of the security officers. 

 "This bar has been secretly serving local brew to its clients but i am surprised that police has never arrested them yet they patrol our area on a daily basis," he said. 

Henry Mugarura, the Jinja North Division Police Commander told URN the deceased’s body is lying at Buwenge Health Center IV mortuary awaiting postmortem. 

Mugarura defended their failure to act on the bar operators, saying some of them operate on residential premises, which makes it difficult for security to monitor their operations.
