Osman Draga, one of the Muslim faithfuls says several Muslims have vowed not to allow the new Kadhi lead prayers in their mosques. "Some are saying they will not allow him to lead prayers in their Mosque instead he should go to his Mosque in Tanganyika Ward where he has been praying from," said Draga.

According to Draga, the new Kadhi is expected to go straight to his home and wait for the day the district council members will convene to hand over office to him. He expresses fear that the youthful Kadhi may find difficulty administering the Muslims who have more experience than him.

"Many people expected Sheik Juma Vuni Abdallah to be announced new Kadhi because of his vast experience and respect he commands from the Muslim fraternity but this has been turned down in favor of a younger man," Draga said.
