District councilors want Iganga Resident District
Commissioner -RDC Eva Kwesiga transferred over poor working relationship with local
authorities.
Led by the district council speaker, Bernard Mpungu, the
councilors say that Kwesiga has made it a habit of blackmailing politicians
before the media even without having concrete proof to back her allegations.
They further accuse her of conniving with a clique of
powerful politicians to frustrate the political careers of their counterparts
opposed to her wishes.
Mpungu argues that Kwesiga is meant to advise councilors on
the different ways of selflessly serving the electorates’ interests, other than
capitalizng on their shortcomings to demean them before the public.
He adds that since councilors unanimously voted against her
unbecoming behavior, the appointing authority should take their concerns
seriously so as to create harmony and sanity within the district.
