Japan Donates UGX 324M to Odokomac Primary School

The Japanese Embassy has donated Shillings 324 million to Odokomac primary school in Apac Municipality under the Grants Assistance program. 

The money is meant to finance the construction of two classroom blocks, two latrine blocks and procure 164 desks to improve the learning Environment.  

The Apac Resident District Commissioner, Beatrice Akello Akori broke the ground mid this week to kick the start the construction works by M/S Tonica Engineering Ltd. 

According to the architectural plan, the facility will comprise of two classroom blocks each with two doors, an office and a store, two latrine blocks for both male and female pupils each with 5 stances, bathing shelters and a 10,000-liter water tank.

The work is expected to be complete by November 2020 while the handover is slated for January 2021. Richard Enyeny, the Operation Manager at M/S Tonica Engineering Ltd to deliver quality work.  

While handing over the construction site to M/S Tonica Engineering Ltd, the Apac Resident District Commissioner, Beatrice Akello Akori urged parents to cultivate love and commitment towards their schools.  

“It is imperative that our parents cultivate love for schools by sending children to school, desist from child marriage and ensure safety of school properties,” she said.  Odokomac had an enrollment of 876 pupils by the end of the 2019 academic year. It is one of the 16 primary schools in Apac municipality.
