Jinja City Surveyor Charged for Forgery

Kitimba who on Friday evening pleaded not guilty to all the three counts labelled against him was arrested from his Kampala hideout on Thursday.
The Jinja City surveyor, Robert Kitimbo has been charged with three counts of forgery and uttering false documents.

 Kitimba who on Friday evening pleaded not guilty to all the three counts labelled against him was arrested from his Kampala hideout on Thursday.

 In the first count, it is alleged that, in November 2018, Kitimbo forged minutes indicating that, Jinja municipal councillors had approved the allocation of plot 24B along Kyabazinga way to Jay Mangalal Patel.

It is also alleged that between December 2018 and July 2019, Kitimba allegedly uttered false documents indicating that, Mangalal was the rightful owner of the land located on plot 24B.

Kitimbo is further accused of uttering a false document purportedly authored by the then, land board chairperson, Innocent Ngobi which was directing the ministry of lands zonal office to issue a freehold title in favour of Mangalal.

The Jinja Grade One Magistrate, Ronald Nsobya released Kitimbo on a cash bail of 200,000 Shillings, whereas his two sureties who included; Hellen Nangobi and Safani Walube were each tasked to pay a non-cash bond of three million Shillings.

The State Attorney, Dan Kidhuma informed the court that, inquiries on the same had been concluded and the matter was fixed for hearing on 30th, March 2021.
