Justice Mulenga is New President of Newly-Reconstituted East African Court Of Justice

Justice Joseph Mulenga, has been designated to the presidency of the newly-reconstituted East African Court of Justice.
Justice Harold Nsekela from Tanzania will be vice-president, while Justice Kasanga Mulwa from Kenya and Justice Johnson Busingye from Burundi have been appointed principal judge and deputy principal judge respectively.
Several judges have also been appointed to serve in the court's bench, for the Appellate Division and First Instance Division. They are Justices Mulenga, Nsekela, Philip Tunoi (Kenya), Laurent Nzosaba from Burundi and Lady Justice Emilie Kayitesi Rusera from Rwanda.
They took oaths of office immediately after the announcement. Eight of the judges present at the ceremony shook hands with all the five EAC presidents after taking oath of office.
Justices John Mkwawa from Tanzania, Jean Bosco Butasi from Burundi and Johnston Busingye from Uganda would serve in the First Instance Division.
According to the Summit's final communique, the heads of state took cognizance of the fact that Justice Mulwa and Lady Justice Mary Stella Arach-Amoko from Uganda , who are currently serving the court, will be judges of the First Instance Division
