Kaberamaido Store Keeper Interdicted over Theft of Drugs

In August, the drugs were intercepted being transported to Kampala using a super- custom vehicle via the ferry in Namasale landing site, Lake Kyoga. The drugs were reportedly picked from Kaberamaido district headquarters allegedly with the knowledge of Ebitu.

A store keeper in Kaberamaido District has been interdicted over theft of drugs.

Bernard Ebitu, who has been a storekeeper at Kaberamaido Health Centre IV, was interdicted after 7 boxes of cortem drugs worth 15 million shillings were allegedly stolen from the district headquarters.

Ebitu was interdicted by the Kaberamaido District Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Bernard Ogwang pending further investigations.

Ebitu's file has also been sent to the District Service Commission for guidance.

Samuel Okello, Kaberamaido district LCV Vice Chairperson says that Ebitu's actions affected several patients who have been seeking treatment at health facilities.
