Kaberamaido Woman Held For Killing Husband

The East Kyoga Region Police Spokesperson, Michael Odongo, says the suspect hit her husband with a hoe on the head following a misunderstanding.
Kaberamaido police are holding a woman accused of killing her husband in a domestic brawl. The suspect is 35-year-old Loyce Aipo, a resident of Adipala village in Apapai Sub County in Kaberamaido district.

She is wanted in connection to the death of her husband, 38 - year-old William Awaku on Tuesday night. The East Kyoga Region Police Spokesperson, Michael Odongo, says the suspect hit her husband with a hoe on the head following a misunderstanding.

Awaku bled profusely leading to his death. According to Odongo, the couple clashes minutes after returning from a drinking spree at Adipala trading center. Salume Akiror, a neighbor to the couple, says Awaku breathed his last as he was being rushed to Atirir health center IV in Soroti district for medical attention.

"Due to over bleeding the husband to that woman passed on their way to Atirir health center IV to seek treatment,” Akiror said. She says police picked up Loyce Aipo shortly after the incident. This is the second murder incident in Kaberamaido district resulting from a domestic brawl.

On Sunday, Richard Eriatu, a teacher at Anyara secondary school also slit his wife's tummy to death and went into hiding. The couple also fought shortly after returning from a drinking where they developed a misunderstanding.
