Former New Vision sports Journalist and the Pastor Watchman Ministries, Joseph Kabuleta has been arrested for offending the person of the President, the police has said.

Police have said that the former New Vision sports Journalist and
the Pastor Watchman Ministries, Joseph Kabuleta was been arrested for offending
the person of the President.
Kabuleta was picked up by plain cloth detectives on Friday at Drew and Jacs Restaurant
in Lugogo ahead of his fellowship at UMA showgrounds in Lugogo.
Although Police had earlier on denied that they had Kabuleta, the
Criminal Investigations Department (CID), later confirmed that they had him.
In a press release by Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga, Police arrested Kabuleta
on allegations of offensive communication.
In the release, Police says a team from the Special Investigations Division
arrested Kabuleta and is currently in their custody.
It says that according to preliminary information, the writer repeatedly posted
grossly offensive messages under “Joseph Kabuleta Weekly Rants Returns”,
referring to the fountain of honour as “a Gambler, Thief and Liar.”
The release states that section 25 of the computer misuse act
criminalises such acts of communications.
Police has also cautioned strongly those who glorify such offences against the
president.
“We once again want to caution all those who glorify such communication,
particularly through social media, that though it is public space, it is not
protected. Therefore, any postings of false publications will attract
punishments in accordance with the laws.” the statement reads.
The public is advised to think first about what they say on social media.
“The joint forces will continue using the acquired capabilities to
monitor comments on social media and any offenders will be investigated and
punished. Investigations into the conduct of Joseph Kabuleta are on-going and
more information will be availed as investigations unfold.” The statement
reads.
