The deceased’s brother, Ambrose Mbiire, says the officers who were driving on a double cabin vehicle registration number LG0004153 pounced on Mpoza who was in the trading center with his other colleagues and thumped him into coma without explanation.
Simon Peter, the
Operations Commander at Kagadi Central police station is in trouble for alleged
murder of a resident.
It is alleged that while conducting patrol on May 9th,
2020, at Kyomukama trading center in Kagadi town Council around 1:30pm, the OC
and his team assaulted Mpoza into coma for unknown reason.
He was rushed to St
Ambrose Health Center IV in Kagadi town from where he was later referred to Mulago
National Referral Hospital. He succumbed to the injuries inflicted on him by
the officers on Sunday.

He claims that after
assaulting Mpoza, the officers drove back to Kagadi Central police station
leaving his brother lying in a pool of blood.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine
Region Police Spokesperson, says a general inquire file has been opened against
the commander and his junior officers who were under his command on the fateful
day.
