Police in Kagadi district are stuck with a decomposing body of a man believed to be in his 40s that was found floating on Lake Albert.

The decomposing body was recovered by fishermen from Lake Albert waters near Ndaiga landing site in Ndaiga Sub County around 6pm on Wednesday evening.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, says the fishermen handed the body to Ndaiga police post.

According to Hakiza, the man could have drowned in the lake from another landing site since he is unknown to residents of Ndaiga landing site.

He says no one has shown up to claim the body, adding that if no one turns up they will bury the body.
