Kalangala's Political Influencer Kibuuka Mulowooza Succumbs to COVID-19

The deceased has been the proprietor of Ssese Habitant Resort Beach in Kalangala and was also one of the proprietors of MV Kalangala for over 3 years.

James Kibuuka Mulowooza, the proprietors of road construction firm, Mulowooza and Brothers Limited has succumbed to COVID-19. 

The deceased has been the proprietor of Ssese Habitant Resort Beach in Kalangala and was also one of the proprietors of MV Kalangala for over 3 years. 

Mulowooza is said to have succumbed to COVID-19 at Mulago Specialised National Referral Hospital where he was admitted two weeks ago.  

The Kalangala NRM Chairperson, Sulait Lutakome, says the party has lost the most valuable supporter and financier of their party activities in the district.

Mulowooza has been a key influencer in Kalangala's politics where he has led 2 people to victory in the Bujumba parliamentary elections. 

He was behind the success of Fred Badda and Julius Mukasa Opondo in the 2011 and 2016 elections respectively for the Bujumba parliamentary seat. 

Meddie Kayondo, a political analyst in Kalangala says Mulowooza has been a key pillar in deciding who to vote for in Bujumba County.

According to Kayondo, Mulowooza has done everything possible to develop Kalangala district, adding that he has left many unaccomplished programs including 2021 general elections.

The deceased had thrown his weight behind Leon Lwanga Lumaga for the Bujumba parliamentary race.
