Kamuli NRM Chairperson Granted Bail

Samuel Bamwole was granted a non-cash bail of 2million shillings by Sumanya Kasule, the Kamuli Grade One Magistrate. Bamwole was last week, arrested for defiling a 13-year-old girl and later luring her into abortion.

The Kamuli National Resistance Movement Chairperson has been granted bail.

Samuel Bamwole was granted a non-cash bail of 2 million shillings by Sumanya Kasule, the Kamuli Grade One Magistrate.

Bamwole was last week, arrested for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl and later luring her into abortion.

According to the Busoga North Police Spokesperson, Michael Kasadha says that charges of procuring abortion were preferred against Bamwole.

“We carried out investigations, forwarded the file to state attorney's office for legal advice and on returning it, charges of procuring abortion were preferred against him. Our work is done and it is upon court to decide the fate of the suspect,” he said.

While applying for bail, Bamwole told court that, he was suffering from non-communicable diseases that warranted immediate medical attention and also added that, bail is his constitutional right.

Bamwole provided court with two sureties, Julius Samanya and Steven Mugaya who were willing to stand for him and bail was granted.

Bamwole was ordered to report to the same court on 27th, Match, 2019 for further mentioning.
