Kiruhura Residents Demand Relief Food

Peter Twinamatsiko says that task forces in other districts are giving them food but in Kiruhura they are yet to receive food. He wants the government to give special consideration for the people whose sources of income and livelihoods have been affected by the lockdown.

Residents of Kiruhura District have demanded food relief from the district task force.

On Wednesday, the district task force received maize flour and Bananas from the NRM district committee for vulnerable people affected by the lockdown.

Allen Tusasirwe, a resident says that they should be considered for relief food because they are starving.

Fred Kahuma, a truck driver says although they were exempted from the lockdown, they have nothing to eat because some sources of income that include hardware shops are closed.

Aminadabu Muhindo, the Kiruhura COVID-19 task force chairperson, says they have started compiling a list of the most vulnerable people with the help of chairpersons of Associations like Boda Boda cyclists and saloons.
