Kisoro Goes Two Months Without Electricity

Kabagyenyi told parliament that the district hasnt had power for the last two months making it very different for health workers to help expectant mothers in labor while in theatre.

Kisoro Woman Member of parliament, Rose Kabagyenyi has complained over the persistent power outages in the district, which has led to the death of three expectant mothers at Kisoro hospital in the last one week.

 

She raised the complaint as a matter of national importance during plenary chaired by the Deputy Speaker of parliament, Jacob Oulanyah.

 

Kabagyenyi told parliament that the district hasn't had power for the last two months making it very different for health workers to help expectant mothers in labor while in theatre.

Oulanyah tasked government to find a solution to the power outages immediately to save lives.

 

 

The Finance State Minister, David Bahati, said they had received information about the power problem, adding that the Energy Minister was working with Umeme to resolve the problem.
