A family in Kole district was covered in shock on Monday after one of their relatives whom they believed to have died and was buried last year, showed up alive.

Three people who were riding on a motorcycle were knocked dead by a Gaagaa bus Registration number UBB 991Y at Aliat in Aboke Sub County Kole district in December last year and their heads were crushed beyond recognition. The bodies of two victims of the accidents were claimed by family members for burial.

But a family in Aculbanya Village claimed the third body of the female accident victim suspecting her to be one of their relatives who had gone missing for quite some time.

General Okello Arao, a resident of Aculbanya cell in Ogwang-acuma ward in Aboke town council says that Winnie Acio, a member of Atek-Angulo clan disappeared from home and when the accident occurred they were informed that one of the victims was from Aculbanya cell.

He said that the family members went and retrieved the remains and took them home for burial. Arao, however, says that Acio returned home on Monday from Akokoro Sub County in Apac district where she was cohabiting without communicating with her family.

Vicky Adoch, a close family member told URN that they are now hunting for the relatives of the deceased person they buried one month ago. He says that they have already informed police about the matter.

Robert Tile, the head of Atek-keno clan and deputy minister in charge of Cultural Affairs in Lango Cultural Foundation, says that in the past, such an incident would require that the elders to gather with the deceased’s family members to perform a ritual as a way of restoring sanity in the family.

Tile has advised Acio’s family to consult the clergies and organise thanksgiving prayer as they keep on tracing the deceased’s family.
