Bushenyi district local government has come under criticism for failing to maintain roads.

The residents argue that the roads which have been in a sorry state have been worsened with the heavy rains setting in.   They include the Kyamuhunga Bitooma, Nyakabirizi –Kyaugimbi, Kakanju –Bitooma, Kabusha- Numba-Bugongi, Bushenyi –Bumbaire,  Kizinda –Nkanga-Kahungye among others.

The absence of drainage channels and regular maintenance has seen gullies develop.

Franco Kateeba a resident of Kyabugimbi faults the authorities for failing to put in place proper drainage channels.   He says that the roads will always have a short life span if the challenge of drainages is not addressed.
