The appointment of Odongmadiki caused protests among the councilors on grounds of regional imbalance and gender discrimination.
Lamwo District councilors have rejected the nomination of David Odongmadiki as the District Vice Chairperson.

On Wednesday, the LCV Chairperson Oyet Sisto Ocen reshuffled members of his executive committee.   In the reshuffle, Oyet relinquished the position of Secretary for Education and appointed Robinson Obale the councilor representing Lamwo Town Council who has been the district secretary for Works and Technical Services.

Oyet took over the position of Secretary for Production and Marketing from Doris Abalo, the district youth secretary who was appointed Secretary works and technical services.

Mathew Okoya Akera the councilor representing Palabek Ogili Sub County was dropped as District Vice Chairperson and replaced by Odongmadiki the councilor representing Palabek Gem Sub County.

Justine Peace Odur the district councilor V representing Padibe Aceba Sub County retained his seat as the district secretary for finance, planning, and administration.

The appointment of Odongmadiki caused protests among the councilors on grounds of regional imbalance and gender discrimination.

Florence Atii, the councilor representing Female Workers rejected the nomination arguing that the district executive committee was dominated by men and the district chairperson should consider nominating a female.

The female councilor representing Lokung Sub County Jennifer Lakot protested the nomination Odongmadikdi on grounds that Palabek County has two members on the executive.

According to Lakot, the District Speaker James Passi Ochola, the outgoing vice chairperson, and the incoming vice chairperson all hail from Palabek County.

The matter raised divergent views prompting Ochola to adjourn that council meeting for some minutes before subjecting the house to a vote. However, the councilors rejected and tasked the District Chairperson to make fresh nominations.
