It is a somber mood at the home of the slain Arua municipality member of parliament, Ibrahim Abiriga inAnyafio village in Arua Municipality. URN visited Abiriga's home inAnyafio village this morning and found relatives and friends still in shock following his assassination.

Unidentified gunmen riding on a motorcycle gunned down Abiriga and his young brother and bodyguard, Saidi Buga on Friday evening as they were driving to the legislator's home in Kawanda in Wakiso district last evening.

Although the deceased's bodies are still in Kampala, his family in Arua has started the burial preparations. Abiriga's brother, Salim Saleh Drasi, says the slain legislator will be laid to rest at their ancestral home.

Drasi, who said Abiriga, is survived by unspecified number of widows and children, appealed to government to consider supporting the late's family.

Jackson Atima, the interim Chairperson of the burial organizing committee, told URN they are still recovering from the shock.
