The former Gulu Municipality Member of Parliament, Christopher Achire is nursing a broken arm after being attacked by a man he had hired to slash his compound. The incident happened on Tuesday evening at Tol Manwang in Laliya Trading Center in Laliya Sub County where the former legislator is erecting his rentals.

Geoffrey Owiny, the Bwona Gweno parish LC III Councilor told Police that Anywar assaulted the former legislator with the mowing machine injuring him. Ronald Were, the Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations at Gulu Central Police station, told URN that they were yet to get full details of the case.
He however, explained that they had impounded the mowing machine with fabricated metallic blades and kept it at Gulu Central Police station as exhibit. Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa River Region Police spokesperson, says detectives are yet to visit the scene of the crime to establish what could have happened.

URN visited Gulu Independent Hospital and found out that Achire was transferred toKumi Orthopedic centerat 4am this morning. According to a resident of Laliya Trading Center, Anywar cleared the compound for Shillings 60,000 but the former legislator only paid him Shillings 40,000 promising to clear the balance the next day.
Achire's decision infuriated Anywar who is still at large, prompting him to fetch the mower and attack him. Achire suffered injuries on the left, which he used to stop the blades from cutting his neck.
Christopher Achire is the proprietor of Gulu FM, one of the leading Radio Stations in northern Uganda. He is also the founder of Obema Enterprises, a booming boda boda motorcycle trading company with many branches in Gulu Town.
He represented Gulu Municipality in the ninth parliament on the opposition Forum for Democratic Chance-FDC party ticket. He ran for Aswa County parliamentary seat in 2016 as an independent and lost to Reagan Okumu
