A luggage handler attached to Link Bus Services in Kasese district has been arrested for illegal possession of military uniform.

Muzafari Katabazi was picked on Wednesday on a tip-off from a security officer at the bus terminal.

Lt. Col. Richard Omony, the Commandant of the 4th Mountain battalion based in Rukoki in Kasese district, says the suspect was found with a military cap.

Cue Out…acquired that cap.”//

He says that upon interrogation, the suspect claimed that he picked the military cap from one of the buses, which had just arrived from Kampala. Katabazi told URN that he only wore the cap to “show off”.

However, one of the company employees who only identified himself as Rugumayo told URN that it is against their operating standards to use any item left behind by a customer.

//Cue in; obutuba tubitungire tu…

Cue out... nibabisera tubibaha.”//

Lt. Col. Richard says that the suspect will be interrogated since there is no officer who has reported a missing military attire.

If found on the wrong side of the law, the suspect will be charged with unlawful possession of government stores contrary to section 316 of the penal code.
