Festo Peter Okello, the Chairperson Health Management Unit, says that the temporary suspension of operations at the health centre has affected patients visiting the facility with communicable diseases, expectant mothers and those on anti-retroviral treatment (ART) since there is no health worker to attend to them.

According to Okello, they are negotiating with the district health department to consider them to open the maternity ward and ART clinic.

Hellen Drajea, the Agago District Health Officer, says that the facility shouldn’t have closed since other staff could have remained attending to patients.
