Police in
Masindi are interrogating a man accused of attempting to access the office of
the Resident District Commissioner-RDC with a sharp knife.
The suspect
is Joseph Serugo, a resident of Gayaza B village Nangabo sub-county in Wakiso
district where Masindi RDC, Kobusinge Kirabira
worked in the same capacity before her transfer.
According to Kirabira, Seruga approached her secretary on
Wednesday seeking permission to see her. She explains that the secretary asked Seruga
why he wants to meet the RDC.
In his response, Seruga claimed that he had come
to deliver a document to the RDC.
In her response, the Secretary demanded to see the document. In the process of pulling out the said document from his pocket, a sharp knife fell out causing commotion at the
office.

Edinah Nyiraneza, the Masindi District Police Commander-DPC has confirmed the
arrest and detention of the suspect.
She says that the RDC’s bodyguards
arrested the suspect and whisked him to Masindi Central Police station where he
is locked up for interrogations.
