Man in Kagadi On the Run for Chopping off Wife’s Hands

It is alleged that the couple developed a misunderstanding for unknown reasons that forced Basemera to flee the home and stay with her aunt.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson has confirmed the incident to URN.
The police in Kagadi are hunting for Eldard Byaruhanga, a resident of Nsugasugi village, Kanyangoma parish of Kagadi sub-county for allegedly chopping off his wife’s hands. 

The victim has been identified as Rose Basemera 22, a resident of the same area. 

At the time of the attack, Basemera was at her aunt’s home.  It is alleged that the couple picked a misunderstanding for unknown reasons that forced Basemera to flee the home and stay with her aunt. 

Byaruhanga went to the home where Basemera was staying and reportedly cut her both hands before he fled to an unknown destination.

The victim's aunt, Joselyne Nyamate says that they heard her screaming for help and rushed into the house where she was, only to find her both hands chopped off. 

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson said that the hunt for the suspect is ongoing.
